Thank you, Muley. And the feeling is very mutual...or...in other words....ditto!

I felt exactly that, Darson
And judging by your blog, I think you already have a good grasp of this skill. Much hardship is overcome by humor, and you do an excellent job of it.

Re: I think this may be one of the most touching descriptions I've read
Then I must have conveyed what I felt, Pat-B, and thank you for telling me. It was a bitter-sweet evening; the triumph over loss, and the love and sharing in the home was immeasurable. I will always remember it.

Life is just as you say, TAPS
And my friends are very good at dealing with it all. They are the type who can sing even when sad. Even the grandmother, who was closest to the boy. She is such a strong soul, and I was hurting for her. I am sure you and she are kindred spirits.

Wiley John
I love to drive, so you will surely get a call one day and I will mosey in to continue our delightful chat...and to meet Mr. Greysome. And you mentioned something in our conversation the other night that, without you knowing, could be a big help to a story that I want to do. I need to get more info from you. And I want to see Kabu's new boots.

Sam444, I know you are both right!
and 'Work to Live' MUST become my motto for the future. When do I get to meet you?

It sounds like you are working too many hours... like me. I usually do Xmas shopping on Dec. 24th, LOL!

Re: Hi darlin'How brave those Cuban friends are and they continued on.....

You're right, Kabu. Life does go on, and time does heal.

Yeh - I know I'm working too hard, but I'm at a loss to know how to cut down the hours at the moment. It will come. Meeting you two was such a refreshing 'time out'! And if you make it up for a weekend, I promise I'll take 2 full days off!!!

He sure is a bright doggie, Nautikos

I'm not sure, if either of my dogs had reacted like Jag, that I'd have walked past that thing more than once. Probably I'd have called the cops! LOL.

It was a sad thing losing one so young. It seems the danger had been there since birth - it could have happened anytime, although no-one knew about it until it did.

I found that too, Vogue
They are a very warm and loving nationality, for the most part. I've been part of their 'family' for years.

This was such a sweet post. I've known people like this, as well, and I marvel at them. How they laugh in the midst of sorrow? I'm trying to get better at this skill. A lovely, thought provoking entry. Must have felt that you were in the presence of greatness.

I think this may be one of the most touching descriptions I've read
about the holiday celebrations, moving forward in spite of loss. I love Spanish music, which is like the event at your friend's house, sad and happy and beautiful all at once.

It seems that every holiday season is marred for someone in some way.  Life is full of joys and sorrows, sadness and singing.  Your Cuban friends are fortunate to have your love and support.

Sorry to read about the young man my friend. You're working too much kiddo, take time to smell the roses and remember, we are only about an hour and fifteen minutes from Gatineau to Pembroke, like if you need us or supper or something

That is so sad for the young boy! Taken far too quickly! I think you are very correct that they are able to deal with due to the structuring of their lives! I would be inconsolable if I could not return! I adore the Christmas season, getting the jig saw out from your prompt of it being time! I adore a cup of hot chocolate at the first snow, too! WORK TO LIVE my dear friend! sam

Hi there!
Yes, Christmas will be here soon, I just hope I get to enjoy the preparations and not have them be a burden what with long work weeks and all.

Very sorry to hear about the Cuban family's loss. To lose someone so young is always very hard to take, much harder than someone who's lived a long life...

And my 'grump-puppy' Jag (who isn't a pup but acts like one) wouldn't dream of letting me sleep that long. And it's not just a matter of being let out - at seven there's a lot of barking and howling to tell me to damn well hurry up, and at seven-thirty it's out the door for a walk, for at least a mile, and often more...

And the incident with the 'corpse' emerging from the lawn at the neighbour's wasn't just a shaggy dog story - it really happened the way I told it - he's just a very bright doggie...

I have very good Cuban friends in Miami too and the same experience as you. They have a great sense of family and it doesn't metter one but if you are related by blood or not.
