Re: Nautikos -- what guarantee is there people won't cheat?
No guarantee -- in fact some will no doubt jump the starting gun. To me NaNoWriMo is a motivator, a method for writing through obstacles. The deadline brings purpose to keep on going whether you're in the mood to write or not. Cheat and you miss out.

It's Friday afternoon, and I felt anything but energetic, actually a bit worn out, 'cause things haven't been going well this week. But this post of your has energized even me! At the very least, I'm gonna take the doggie for a longer walk than planned, before slipping into my weekend mode...
But something you said about 'cheating' by starting early on the NaNoWriMo project reminds me that I had this question in the back of my mind for a long time: What guarantee is there that people won't cheat, and simply send in something they have slaved over all year, or even two or three years?

Surely there is some of that in every city, one just has to know how to find it, and choose to be a part of it. I'll bet you encourage others just as much as you were encouraged.

I am on the side applauding you forward. But I refuse to wear a
cheerleaders outfit. The dumpy little legs would put you off the writing.

You are going to be so busy the next month writing the whole day to keep up with that assignment! Good luck, I admire your stamina.
