Forget the book... take the taxis... As you found out the drivers are the best tour guides ever! and you can always , after you have been where you are going for a while and are rested and fed, interview a few passengers getting down from the busses sweaty and hungry to get down what that was all about. You will miss tons of stuff sitting in those missiles on wheels... I hope you continue having a grand time my friend... I so enjoyt hearing about it.
