Only YOU can look Voguish in the bowels of a gritty tunnel!!  Have a wonderful time in Spain; not sure now if my son will be in Spain at all - he's having an amazing time at his girlfriend's house in Venice and might stay on another week.....  Mal

Have a wonderful time. I spent a week once in and around Madrid
but it would be too hot there now. I love all the mediterranean area. Do enjoy yourself and stay alert to theft and be safe. Looking forward to your stories as you progress. Luv from Kabu

Enjoy your stay in Galicia. Judging from Sinome's comment you are going to have an interesting and unusual trip.

I hope you have a great time there Vogue... Its beautiful country.  My grandfather was originally from A Coruna... but he grew up in Sarria... which is a little town in the southern eastern part of Galicia.  It really is nothing to see... fairly new ( I think about 100 - 150 years old... ) no distinctive monuments of special places... except a monastery that is in the outskirts of the city.  The only good thing about Sarria is the antiques... they have all kinds of auctions there of Art and furnishings... and the only reason I know that is because my husband was very interested in French impresionism and used to make it a point to go to Sarria just to see what was for sale there.  So if you want to purchase art go... if not... is just a place to refill the gas tank and the stomacks  loll  I have a couple of cousins that live there but we are not close.  As you will find out Galicians are very nice as long as you don't cost them money  loll  so turists they love... relatives that might want to stay with them.... no way  loll  Don't forget to go eat sea food in A coruna... What they do there with fish is amazing :-) Oh and don't leave without having a caldo Galego... Its like a soup/stew that would give life to a dead person :-)  Mmmmmmmm  I envy you... Take care of you!
