Hi, jollyjeff
The way my Tigers have played since the All-Star break I'm not sure they would do very well against your Nats.  Your team shows a lot of promise for the future, however, if they don't conduct a hurried fire sale.  Ditto my Tigers with a lot of promising young players.  Hopefully both teams will be willing to bite the bullet for the time being and continue to build for the future with young future stars rather than trading them away for fading stars with big contracts.

I think you're probably right about Cabrera.  With so many first basemen having big years his slip in batting average and decline in run production probably hurt him.  If he heats up after the break, like he did last year, lots of people are going to feel silly about passing him over.  How about my man Inge punctuating his selection with a big two-homer day on Sunday?  I'm delighted the Tigers have hung in there and are still in first at the break.  I'm hoping this is the year they keep it going after the All-Star game instead of falling apart like they've done far too many times in the past.

I was very happy for Inge, too! He did everything asked of him last year and it is so fitting that he makes it this year! I think that Miguel's fall from the top in batting average stymied his chances! Tow pitchers is just flat out awesome! sam
