One of my favorite bands of all time...This song outside of the movie
makes me think of how most of us at one time or annother would have liked to get 'numb' to unwanted realities by whatever means ... But then again there are other ways to look at it ... Thanks for sharing.

Sam :)
They worked very well-- thank you so much. it adds to the meaning of the song to be able to listen and see it! You are right--- their words are very moving. Even if you look past the drug induced meanings-- these songs hit the core.

Keep the discussions going :) Thanks for your comments! I enjoy talking about music and getting perspectives.

Calia :)
Yes you are right-- our inner children must look at us sometimes like we are idiots too... brings to mind "wish i didn't know now what I didn't know then." country lyrics! And I agree--  I haven't seen the wall in many years but it sure does make you think!

Thanks for your comments and discussion-- keep em coming!

I am a huge Pink Floyd fan and I mainly listen and when I am moved by the words on any given day I just let it flow! I like how you get us to think about songs, too! So happy the instructions worked as well! sam

like you, I feel and think of about a zillion different things when I hear this song.  I really like the way that this video montaged The Wall, and took the pieces that really went well with the song. One of the things that I never really thought much about before was the part where adult pink is sitting in his easy chair in the middle of a field, and little pink comes up, stares at him for a long moment, and then walks away, after getting no reaction from adult pink.  To me, this made me think that sometimes the child we once were struggles to the surface to see what we've ended up doing with our lives, bringing all of those things that we once wanted to do and be along with him/her.  "This is not how I am...the child was grown, the dream was gone."  Great idea, I love the song, it's definitely one that you can get a discussion out of!

Re: Pink Floyd is really good at touching those
You are very right. I guess that's why they are still well known among newer generations.
