- Go to My God Blogit is boring
As a relatively new member of this site I cannot comment on whether it is more or less boring than it used to be post 9/11.
One of the reasons I'm here is to read and try to understand other points of view, as well as to express my own. It should be possible to open our ears to each other's viewpoints without being offensive. With regard to 'crickets': well they have their viewpoints too.

Re: Re: Since I'm one of the big proponents of "civility"...
Some of the modern poetry weaves topics such as spiritualty, politics, besides the standard ones of love & romance...perhaps taking a fresh look could be educational, I certainly hope so :)!

Re: Since I'm one of the big proponents of "civility"...
no one's poetry is boring, ash pradhan. Thats not what I meant in this post. It's just that peoplecome here for many different reasons, and poetry happens to not be one of my personal favorite catagories.

Blogit is getting more civilized, that's all.
I am not brain dead and I like "chirping crickets" and a "rainbow fruity little world with bunnies and butterflies" -
Also cooing doves, by the way.
It's pretty stuff.
What would like? Putrifying flesh? I am sure you could Google it and find some.

"
Then we can look at deeper social trends such as the fact that this site began and took root amongst the post 911 collective anxieties which had as their flashpoints, religion, politics, terrorism and war." That's exactly it. And of course those things cannot be aligned in the same unique fashion again.

calmcantey75 - I think there are a number of different influences at play
As you suggest, there was a novelty or honeymoon period when this type of internet self publishing first became popular, that was inevitably going to wain. Then we can look at deeper social trends such as the fact that this site began and took root amongst the post 911 collective anxieties which had as their flashpoints, religion, politics, terrorism and war.
And as the other commenters have suggested; different concerns have begun to take precedence and this place does in fact go in cycles.
