One can take no pleasure from situations like this however the thing I've learned and taken reassurance from is that people here care about honesty in their interactions with others.

I was quite surprised at how thorough they were in their “investigation” – clearly they made a time and effort commitment to ensure the accusations were true and for this I applaud them. What seemed extremely strange to me is that after receiving the warning or the request to start a new blog, they found that a subsequent entry was plagiarized as well. As the issue unfolded in a public form I was astonished that some people/bloggers had a rather laissez-faire attitude about plagiarism. Be it within the confines of a small writing community called Blogit or on a bigger scale, it’s simply not acceptable.
