Dieting is tough and it never seems to work for me.
I can't seem to get past my current "setpoint" for any length of time.
If you find one that works, let me know.

Adventures in New York
I loved the way you described what you saw. "The squeals of recognition" brilliant. You write very well, I look forward to more.

Dieting is one step forward and one step back! Yesterday was back and certainly you'll go forward again today. Sounds as though the food was worth it though.

Butter sounds like a place I should not go.  I am too swayed by great-looking menus.  "Whale sounds and Billie Holiday" is quite a sound combo.  LOL

That's the spirit! Live it up and enjoy, who cares about the scales. Throw them out the window, I'm sure you look great as you are. By the way, my crisis is over, fortuntely I didn't have to leave the US as feared, a bit more to-ing and fro-ing by email and things should blow over. And then it's time to make plans again to visit you. All this excitement in NYC can't go by without vogue. Have a nice Sunday - and a great lunch or brunch or whatever.

Imo, during the menopause (and especially before), there is not much you can do to prevent fat coming on. My sister is suffering from the same. We eat healthy, so that's not the problem (btw, I'm posting a new form of eating one of the coming days). Her cholesterol is fine... I had the same, but now the fat belly is going away again - and the headaches are gone, too.

A case of...
Nothing ventured, nothing gained, or lost as it may be!  But the time was well spent.
