I am the captain of my soul."            Awesome! sam

None can beat the Bankers. Philosophy has its material limits. The Bankers rule!

Excellent and very thoughtfully educative. So very rose-like for you to share.

I can't claim to have great interest in philosophy or anything. . ,
but, I REALLY enjoyed this a lot.  It made me think a lot about how liberating it is to harness exterior forces that intrude in everyday life.  Nice job!

Indeed very interesting... Loved the comparison of the soul as a ship and us as their captains...  Great and wise words you shared with us... Thank you :-)

"For DEWEY (John Dewey) the pivot of progress

is the intelligent human being freely forseeing the possible

consequences of events and throwing himself into the

stream in order to, in a degree at least, change the course

of the stream so that it conforms more fully to his ideals." Words to consider in these times when cataclysmic changes in economy and world climates overwhelm so many. Great post Vicky!

I need to go get me a cup of coffee and then read that again.  Thanks for sharing.
It's a very dreary-looking rainy day here, a good one for thinking on things like this.
