Hi
I noticed that gomedome says what he thinks, makes a well written argument,  and I guess begins another. That’s fine and dandy in this country of  free speech. In your favor the historical facts in letters and writings show that our founders formulated the “Declaration of Independence” and “The United States Constitution” on the premise  of their new freedom of religion from  the British., that is, their stance of Christianity. Indeed the colonies practiced Puritanism the earlier Pilgrims notwithstanding. And some of their sermons survive. In the favor of gomedome the Puritan Church became the Congregational Church that tolerates a doctrine similarly to Unitarianism. Similarly the country progressed into the philosophy that welcomes diverse beliefs and worship. I think that a separation of the heritage distinctly and evidently Christian and worship.  It comes out respect for each other, and concern about one’s own convictions notwithstanding love. Wings, it is only degrading if you wish to embrace propaganda
Just believing something is not propaganda does not make it so. Misinformation IS misinformation no matter what you wish to believe.

You see this is where it gets hard to be polite to you because there is really no way to point out someone doing this without stepping on toes.

You are showing that you do not care about doing what is right at all.  Your main concern seems to be being told that what you believe is right.  When it comes to what is true and proven fact and what is nothing but propaganda, facts have to win over because that is what is right.

If it is just a mater of faith based concepts, that is one thing and I will show respect to that.  You say you believe in God and the Bible, I say I don't, but I am not about to say that it is wrong for YOU to believe in God.  If you get me started I will go off on my views on God and Bible.  But that is all about faith and your beliefs are in an area that is unprovable.

When we jump not thing such as your claim that the Pagans had orgies to celebrate Easter, that can be proven one way or the other. The FACTS say they never did such things. I talked about the BS propaganda of Halloween because that is one where there is way too much that gets spread that it is 100% easily proven to be false.  What I find real interesting is that you made an assumption that what you believe about Halloween falls into that category without me saying it does.  I NEVER said it was YOUR beliefs about Halloween, just that there were Christians who had spread BS propaganda about that great holiday.  if you wish you can present what you believe about Halloween and I will look it over and do the research for you, if I have not already done it, and present you with the facts.

You can go here to see the post I repost every year now.  It is fill with PROVEN facts about Halloween.  Basically I went and did research and found the facts.  if you dislike the facts and think they are in error, go and find evidence that say otherwise and I am open to listening to it.

I've dealt with other like you who seem to have blinders on in when it comes to anyone pointing out you've made a mistake in your judgment. For me it is more insulting to allow a person to foolishly believe in something that is PROVEN false and try to correct them than it is to allow that person to continue with beliefs in such misinformation as well as passing such misinformation on as if it were truth.  It is also not healthy thing for society to not do all you can to catch such things and try to make such spreading of misinformation happen as little as possible.

Never ever think that anyone can degrade your Savior. The degrador is so minuscule compared to the gigantic Savior. Elephants walk in the market while the curs shout. Do you think it makes any difference? At least I don't.

Re:Kooka just listen to me for once,
Kooka, when you state this in your comment,"When I kept dealing with people who used (Blankety Blank)propaganda about Halloween" and so on... that IS degrading MY beliefs. Because my comment I posted was MY BELIEF, and it just  so happens that some others believed the same way I did, and you were degrading them in their beliefs as well.(and I know you did not use the curse word itself there, you abbreviated it, but I'd rather not abbreviate it on my page, just so we are clear.) So, you may think what you said was "ok" but it is infact, not ok at all to me. MY BELIEF is that what I posted is not in any way "propaganda", and you did attack it as such ie:propaganda. So, yes, in my eyes you did put down what MY BELIEFS are. I hope you understand what I am saying.

Wings, the thing is you WERE passing along propaganda
That is part of the problem.  You don't seem to understand that I was not attacking you at all.  I merely was trying to point out that you were mistaken in what you were claiming.  The Pagans NEVER held orgies for their Easter celebrations. And in my first comment to you I NEVER once degraded your beliefs or your God.  That started up AFTER you reacted in an uncivil manner towards me.  Anyone who wants to see the first comment I left you can go here and see how this all started and make their own informed decisions.

When someone posts something that is false, it is NOT attacking it to try and correct that person.  And you are not the first believer here to get upset with me for doing this, which has always bothered me.  For some reason there are believers who do not wish to lean the facts and would rather keep to certain sets of misinformation rather then learn the truth. Due to my integrity I have a hard time ignoring something begin said that I know is false and I will try to correct people who post wrong information.

Gomedome is not an atheist by the way.  He is agnostic.  And that was not an attack, just a clarification.  The two are not the same thing.

But you DID cast the first stone in this.  You disliked that I was trying to correct you and went and basically were uncivil towards me and my beliefs. There is a huge difference between disagreeing with ideas, which I have no problem with, and trying to correct someone who is posting misinformation.  I really cannot help it  if the FACTS are not what you wish them to be.

I am all for agreeing to disagree and doing it with respect to each other's beliefs.  Whatever attitude ends up in my comments generally is a reflection of the attitude I am replying

Blogit is a micro example of the marco world. I went through this years
ago on Blogit with other atheists. (I can't say I've followed the latest...) In the past, atheists lways approached me and started arguments.  Those particular atheists are no longer here. I don't argue with agnostics and atheists on Blogit.  Most of them already have their minds made up and quite frankly, reason and logic are on their side.  The burden of proof lies on the person who says something exists.  I used to attend atheist meetings and know their arguments, their beliefs and in the end all I can say is, I BELIEVE IN GOD and will continue to write and share what I do, but I will no longer debate and argue.  Jesus said if they don't accept your message, shake the dust off and move on.  He didn't say argue, debate and MAKE them see the light.  We are seed bearers, the Holy Spirit does the convicting. No amount of pushing or convincing works.  It just doesn't. I feel for anyone who attempts to go up against Blogit's "finest". It's a losing battle.  Focus your attention on what's important -- letting Christ live in you no matter what anyone says or does.  Be at peace and continue the course.  In invite you to come by and read my post on the veil in the religion section.  Be blessed and thanks for your post.

Being attacked by atheists is like a 'rite of passage'on blogit. I have been through it, as have so many others. Nobody really changes after these exchanges. Just move on and focus on what you want to write. Just remember never expect anyone to accept what you write 100%.

I will always support prayer for peace, especially in the hearts of people, for that is where peace begins.
