I hope
she feels better!

I read the previous post as well, and it occurred to me that she might have some kind of 'psychological' disorder - apparently cats do get that, although it's not at all well understood, and it's probably pointless to see it anthropomorphic terms...

I quite understand your predicament!

I hope not, also.
I hope she continues on the mend, instead.

Mal, the only change was last fall when they moved to a new, larger house, from a cramped apartment.  She has lived in larger homes before, and has moved several times.  She has adapted before this move to life with my daughter's step-sons and their dad.

I hope your healing touch is working.  Strange that there's no obvious basis for her illness.  Did she suffer a loss recently?  When my next door neighbor's dog died suddenly, their cat went into a deep depression and didn't eat for weeks.  But he came out of it and lived many more years.  Mal

mneme, she is so fragile-seeming right now,

all petting and cuddling is very cautious and delicate.  She has always been impatient with any sort of handling that was not her own idea, one of those cats who stretches out luxuriously, as if offering her soft furry front for petting...  we call it the 'belly trap' -- set for the trusting and unwary, or those who think they are faster than an indignant cat.

Now, the right kind of touch sets her purring-- rubbing around the ears and temples, under the throat, the cheeks...  but when the tail begins to twitch, even if the purr goes on, it is wise to withdraw and give her peace.

I hope she gets well again too.. cats are friends, almost human sometimes... I'm sure you are giving her lots of extra cuddles.
