Thanks mneme. A seismic shift doesn't have to be planetary, mneme. If it's personal and it means a shift of any kind - it's seismic.

Brilliant description of what it's like laying awake at night trying to sleep ... although I must say my waking thoughts aren't usually about siesmic shifts ... no, wait, they are, only not on the oceanic scale.

And something usually does. Wouldn't life be boring if it didn't.

I absolutely love your
'relatively stable plane.' Thanks to my Scottish buddy, the Scotch is on hand. The bottled water and long shelf life foods I will research, soon.

I think my mind is catching up after a two day migraine I'm recovering from - duh - I wonder why I get migraines?

In the event of any of those catastrophes, there's absolutely nothing
you could do about them, so why waste your last few weeks or months on a relatively stable plane worrying about them? You might as well enjoy the sunrises and sunsets that come along as you wait for armageddon. Meanwhile, you could stock up on bottled water and packaged foods with long (very long) shelf lives, and maybe a bottle of very good scotch.
