Breaking lines this way,

even without additional instruction, gives a poem more punch, more impact.  The reader naturally gives more emphasis to the brief line, the single thought or word.

Likewise, longer lines flow into a more relaxed and relaxing reading, effective at emotionally evocative reading, less explosive, more narrative, warmer, gentler emotional reading.

Spacing and line-breaks become part of the punctuation that tell us how to 'hear' what we are reading.

The more I read this myself I'm noticing that I speed up in the middle and then slow back down towards the end. I assume that each time you read it, it can be done in different ways and get different meanings.

The cadence did not allow for a five second wait! I did three at the top but soon it fell naturally one after the other for me! sam

Very familiar territory with life like sequences.  I like it!

I like the idea to pause after each line and contemplate meaning and emotions present. I skim to fast and usually get another picture if I reread a poem. Good share after the nightmare sscare!

Wonderful!  You sucked me into your dream and let me experience it as you did... By the time I read the waiting a few minutes instructions it was too late,  I had done it naturally... reflecting on every pause.  Great job!
