- Go to Would You Push Your Lazy 12 Year Old Around The Store?
If I were his grandma, and if there were some kind of problem, be it physical, mental, emotional, or whatever, I would push him around no matter what it looked like to a casual observer and no matter what was said to us or about us. If I were his grandma and he was just being lazy, I would kick his butt and make him push me.

It's a pity kids are moving away from physical activities to being couch potatoes, even here in India. Thanks for visiting my blog! Nita.

Perhaps a bit difficult to judge this particular case, but the point is you've raised an important point about obesity; much of it is due to physical inactivity. It's not just a problem in the States either, it's of growing concern here as well.

Now now CR... lets be kind loll ... we really do not know what was the matter with the kid. Sometimes there are conditions we can not judge by simple visuals... perhaps... and I do hope I am wrong and the kid is only lazy... but maybe he has a heart condition, ... a circulation problem... or any number of other disorders or illneses that would not show up readily in his outward apereance. If I seem overly sensitive to this is because I have a heart condition that when its bothering me impeeds me from walking long distances. As a consequence the Dr. gave me one of those handicap signs which I do not use unless I am really having a bad day. You should see the looks I get when I park in a handicaped spot and step out of the car in my high heels looking the picture of health.... I have had people yell at me and call me names!!! loll Of course I understand and I don't even bother to explain I just tell you to make the point that maybe this kid could be sick and his poor mom pushes him for a good reason.. Again I hope you are right and he is just a spoiled rotten, normal, fat, American teenager. :-)
