Rest is very important and often overlooked. Like you I feel that those on the go are not reaching their potential.

You are definitely onto something here Bro! But you have to extract people from their involvement in their careers, before they realize the value of 'resting'. I got a couple of dropouts to blog on....but later!

Resting is hard to do
but I will try to make more of an effort.

Stephen Covey's 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
I am only on the second chapter of this book, but the seventh habit is entitled, "Sharpen the Saw." I was hesitant at first to read the book as I was afraid it would make my life more hectic by trying to "do more with less." But I am pleasantly surprised that the book could more appropriately be titled, "7 Habits of people who have inner peace." He advocates change from the inside out. Interesting post.

This is very creative...I agree we should sit and sharpen our axes often...and try to smell the flowers too!

It's true that life seems to move at such a fast pace.

I've given up the big axe, and just try to keep a little hatchet handy.

I think a little trip to my neck of the woods, my dear, is perfectly in order. Interesting post this one.

Texas Gem...
...I believe most people would like to slow down and smell the roses, so to speak, but, the demands of this fast paced, information-overload economy won't let them.
Many people are working multiple jobs just to pay the bills...and of course, some are accumulating multiple bills without a job.
Nevertheless, we spend more of our time in our jobs than at any other time in history, except for what's also known as the Gilded Age(post Civil War-early 20th Century, industrial expansion era).
Your point is well taken for those of us who can manage it.

Re: Goodness.....
I remember an old B & W sitcom Make Room For Daddy, but doesn't seem like there is much room for their heavenly daddy.  Have a great day Corbin!

Goodness.....
Im surprised that Waco Church doesn't offer a drive through....makes one wonder how much of the 30 minutes was concentrated on passing the offering plate...
