Nov 22, 1963...

I was in 6th grade... had to run to intercept the school-bus after school, and miraculously, he stopped for me...  Everyone on the bus was talking about it, and I just couldn't believe it.  For days, at home, we were immersed in it, sombre and stunned and sometimes crying.

Sept 11, I had turned on the TV when the news broke...  ran down the hall to tell a sleeping housemate what was happening, and we all watched aghast as the whole thing played out...

I also remember the July day when a human being stepped down onto the moon...

But there do seem to be more tragic and terrible days on that Calendar of Most Memorable Moments, than joyful ones.  This innauguration provides some balance in that scale: not only is Obama moved into the White House, but Bush and his pals are moved out!

I agree!
I was not alive for the kennedy assassination, but I hope we'll have no more sep. 11 type days and many more jan. 20s!!

The same three days have affected me as well! The 11th being a very tough one for it is my son's birthday! How things have changed on that day for us! I don't blame you for being skeptical, I know I would have felt the same! It was just to ghastly! I hope you have a great day today! sam
