I think you are right! Some things just need to be stopped before they take on a life of their own! sam

All is so nicely put into words.

I don’t think it was an unkind thing to say – it was the truth.  And obviously it took Richard by surprise, enough so that he stopped whining.  The things you go through, Skye.  I just can’t imagine….

Wonderfully phrased!
Sometimes people need to be shocked into understanding what they are saying (and not just sick people) and not just allow the words to become a voiceless plea for something nobody can provide.

I admire your patience and fortitude - I can not stand whining either (especially when i do it )

Good for you
for saying what you did; I don't think it does any patient any harm to know that where there is a patient, they may be fortunate to have a carer, and the key word is 'fortunate.' Thanks also for your comment on my blog. The 'inner smile' is totally right.

I love the photo, and I love how you deal with him in the present.  What you said to him was not bad.  It gave him something to think about.  But, be assured, you didn't cure the whining indefinitely.
