Greenfields, and as a fellow artist, I forgot to mention your lovely

work. It is JUST like my mother's, only lovelier and better, and so I feel an instant affinity to it.

The moment lives not only in sound, but in memory and on paper. Remembered three times. Anything that you do three times, you usually hang onto forever.

I have a tradition. I buy mobiles as I travel and when I hear them, my mind

says, San Francisco or Guadalajara.

I have some from Korea from my son and I remember his being gone for so long and being home now, a blessing.

Wooden fish clackety clack like coconuts reminding me of Rocky Point, Mexico, where my daughter-in-law got one for me.

I have many around the garden. Mom has many too and there are more travel stories carried in their chimes and gongs and tinkling bells. Each one whispers, Tehran, Hawaii or other wonderful place.

One fellow in San Francisco made his chimes out of old silverware, beautifully bent. It makes a silvery tinging. He said, "Whenever you hear this you will say to yourself, Corky in San Francisco made it for me," and I do, I do say that to myself each time. Funny.
