Lying is definitely the American way. I'm one of the few here in Southern California whose actually from here. Many idiots move here from other places and try to play the role.
What one finds is that everything that comes out of their mouth is a lie. In fact many of these people come to believe their own lies.
Pretty soon they're actually delusional and then their whole psychology is completely messed up. Hopefully they realize one day that they're living a lie and there only recovery is to go back to Boston, Jersey, or wherever.
As for the guy/girl thing there is no scene more fucked up than here Cali and anyone who moves here will get the schooling of their life.
A quick example..a pack of college girls flirted with me as i came out from surfing the other day. The prettiest one was the most forward. Talking S&M and all this bold stuff. And not joking.
I immediately noticed her friends were overweight and she does this to make herself stand out more.
They were a mix of laughing at her comments but also jealous. SHe gave me her number but I know better than to call her.
You see the most bold girls don't hang in packs like that to prop them up. They're alone and much more subtle.
So I didn't waste my time calling her because that would only put a notch on her belt but not get me the experience she offered.
For one, all the pretty girls come here from NY, Texas, wherever thinking they're going to be some Cali-chick in the movies so to speak.
All the guys from other places have never seen so many hot chicks in one place with little clothing so they go wild and lose what little manners men have to begin with.
Hence the girls all get radically spoiled and treat the guys like unwanted pests which just makes the guys get more desperate.
It's a vicious circle that leads to all the pathology I mentioned earlier.
So now everyone thinks they're too precious to have sex and that is why a lot of these girls here are just straight up bitches. Pardon my French please.
No sex makes people hostile. THen the guys become the most testosterone overloaded imbeciles one can possibly imagine.
I simply don't approach women in bars because I know nothings going to come of it. Nothing mentally stimulating or anything else because there is no trust.
Fortunately I'm a world traveler and things are much different outside of the US.
I do enjoy watching the escapades of someone like you/your friends just watch you don't take it too seriously.
Something else to consider...getting married and having kids is a great rescue from all the nonsense of the delusional, non-trusting, single life merry-go round.
ANd if you're already on that road. Then fantastic and great luck to you.
