As soon as I walked into this dear little house I knew I was home
I hate to leave it even to go shopping sometimes.

Re: Troosha
Short spurts for sure.  I am trying to take some time before I move in the spring with them and as much as I love them...there is no place like my OWN home.

It’s been years since I’ve been to a family gathering, and even longer since I stayed over-night but I remember all the “mini-dramas” so well.  At the time I lived alone (with my two cats) and, like you, couldn’t wait to get back the peacefulness of my quiet, little home.  Ahh… but it’s nice to see those people with whom we share so many memories and good times.  I just prefer it in short spurts.

I can understand how all that can get a bit overwhelming! Just reading it I can feel the turbulence...

Even though I was treated well and a little spoiled
I'm so glad to be home!  It was nice to sleep in my own bed last night.

Re: Yes it will be good to sit down, put your feet up, and just be.

Pat, that is normally what I made but when working with a 10 year, we go for the good old melt and pour.  I don't like using lye around the kids.

I am due to make a batch of the lye soap soon though.

Making soap?  My aunt Elsie used to make soap. Old fashioned lye soap, made from beef tallow. Mom used to use the cheese grater to shave the soap and melt it in a pan on the stove so it would be a liquid before she put it in the wringer washer. I feel a story coming on.
