I wonder if they have some kind of specific nutrition that appeals to them. It never occured me to me eat an African Violet...then again I don't need a cat to kill those, I can't seem to keep them alive.

Our cats...
Seem to be addicted to African Violets and unmercifully have ruined both our plants. I have never heard of this, but they love to chew the buds of the flowers off the plants.

Re: Sam
I pretty much have. He could be doing much worse things, so if he wants to sleep in the plant...so be it!

LOL Naut! He doesn't need any encouragement to prove he is the King of the houseplant jungle!

Bel
If he's attacking plants, get a meat-eating plant, like a Venus Fly-trap - it might fight back...

LOL Guy
I have pretty well accepted that fact. He normally just sleeps in it, either way, that plant is not long for this life. LOL!

Bel, your house plant is "history," whether you know it, or not!
Hitler murdered our house plant, an exact duplicate of your plant. Before Hitler chose to kick the plant out of the hexagonal terrarium, Marilyn's black thumb had been unable to kill it. A first for her. The demonic fe-lion tortured it to death, in about a WEEK! Sorry, about your soon-to-be loss of a revered house plant.
