the rainbow lorikeets get stuck into the mangoes up here
and occasionally you see them rolling around drunk from the over ripe fruit!!!

maj, like Ciel, Mom has one on her back porch who uses up all of his
sugar high keeping all others away from the porch. He eventually leaves, but stays forever, wasting humming energy, silly goose.

My parents, when we were in southeastern Arizona for a while,
got a tickle out of pouring a bit of Bacardi into the feeders. Ever see humming birds fly sideways?
And in Colorado, years ago, when Charlie was 11 or so, we were driving through the mountains and stopped at a little restaurant/gas station somewhere east of Durango, that had a 4-flower hummer feeder outside the window. We watched one male defend that territory the entire hour of our meal, from every other hummer that approached! He was so determinedly owning that thing, all of it, all his his his!
