I learned a lot reading you... and I loved the way you told the story of your people's problem with alcohol. The government subsidizing it is kind of crazy but hey if it works...more power to them Great post!

What an entertaining post and vivd description of Indian drinking culture. I so love reading this kind of blogs. You'll never find so much insight in any guide book.

Re: It's nice to be able to say this... Honestly...
I used to be a social drinker. But right now I have abstained. And it is thoroughly a bliss of self-respect and forthright confidence when you are able to have a command over the requirements of your body and mind. I feel a supreme ownership of my self. Repression is another thing. But sustained abstinence brings enough confidence to forgo any repressive thoughts or inclinations.

I liked what Mysteria had to say. Drinking is a bane every where. It is so scary what people will injest for a buzz! sam

Even as an experiement, alcohol hasn't managed to show me much
in virtue. I see it as a scourge on the face of human experience. I surely enjoyed learning about India....
