Re: The polls this morning have once again tightened

But that was all McCain did: he talked, except when he got to the table, then he said and did nothing, according to reports.  Except maybe confuse the issue further.

I suspect his purpose was as political as ever: to be seen seeming to be a man of action.  But it seems many a politician's failing to think that 'seeming' is as good as 'being.'  Or at least, to think that we voters think so.

Skye, you're right, it is hard to see around one's own perceptual filters...  I think this is true for all of us, I don't mean it as a dig.  Anyway, I am going to talk to my daughter about it, the one I have said before is the closest to spin-proof of anyone I have ever known, and who pays closer attention to all this ruckus, so has more information to work with.

The polls this morning have once again tightened
I find it strange that one can watch and see that McCain became a man of action last week when Obama was call me and I'll be there just like Diana Ross, and even though the bill didn't pass due to public disdain, that McCain can be blamed.  If one looks at the history, it was the Dems who stated there was no poblems with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac even when oversight regulators in 2004 found there was.  McCain sponsored 2 bills requiring more regulations and foresaw this mess. Who ar you going to believe me or your lying eyes and ears? The Dems Mantra

I would hesitate to call it even with the numbers where they are

because strange things happen.  But if your prediction is right--then, to my mind, not gone, but back is the Presidency!
