This reminds me of a rueful experience I had with a robin and her nest. I once had a side deck that I seldom went out upon as I was in the habit of spending time on the opposite side of the place. One day I went out there to sweep up bits of straw when I noticed that up over the light fixture was a bunch of dried grass. It never occured to me that it was a robin's nest until as I pulled it off to clean, three beautiful blue eggs fell to the decking and broke. As long as I lived there, no robin frequented that place again.
