Re: Troosha
I am the opposite.  A dish cloth can be thrown in the washer after use, sponges never worked for me LOL!  We are truly creatures of habit aren't we?

Never heard of Javex rumored.  I wonder if that is regional.   I have the SOS under the kitchen sink LOL!

Re: Sinome
Isn't it nice to know that those extra efforts that seemed as if nobody noticed did actually get noticed.

Re: Tide, downey and clorox...and Ivroy snow...
Whacky, my mom too. I don't use the ivory snow, but use the rest!

Re: Naut
I have discovered in my years of experience it is BEST that men stay away from the washer.

Bel
Too funny about the Pinesol - my mother never used it but I do and I think it leaves such a fresh smell.  Perhaps the one cleaning tradition I do carry forwary is that I (as my mother did) use sponges to wash the dishes or wipe counters.  I've never quite understood the dish cloth thing....

My son wrote me in his first letter from College that he missed me tons,  but more than me he missed that "nice" smell his cloth and sheets had at home.  I could not believe he missed Downey  loll  This is a 6'4'' , basketball and football player, 19 year old speaking  loll.  but I knew what he meant.  I got that tip from my mom as well.  Great post!

Dunno. I think we use Tide, but I'm not sure. I don't do the laundry around here...And I don't remember what my Mom used either...

Bel, I can't imagine anyone not just loving a freshly opened bar of Ivory soap.   It is wonderful.  When I first open a bar of Ivory, I even wash my hair with it.  It gets out all the build up of shampoos and conditioners and makes it feel light and wonderful.  I'm old enough that when I think of my mother washing clothes, I remember bluing and Argo clothes starch and Duz and a washboard, galvanized tub, and lye soap for pre-washing dad's work clothes, socks and cloth hankies (yuck).
