Re: Kingmi......
Corbin, the correction taking place the last few weeks in the price of oil should continue in spite of a few blips. What are you suggesting? How could Putin have known about the Georgian planned attack on the South Ossetian capitol? It makes more sense that these events were spontaneous or secretly planned, then overreacted to by Russiam

One thing that is clear to me is that Putin is remaining true to his word that he would "end the 89 Revolution" which brought the Soviet Union new borders.

Corbin
Russia wants control of Ossetia for several reasons - and they will get it, because Putin (who, as you correctly observe, is still in charge) knows he can get away with it...And the silence of the Western media is positively deafening...

Kingmi......
This is all set to coincide with the Olympics.......China has been buying less oil for weeks now because they were shutting the engines of pollution down to try and present a pretty picture for the Olympics.......

The price of oil started dropping and GW also announced the suspension of the Presidential ban on off shore drilling, and the interior department opened up thousands of acres to new drilling.....all of this put extreme pressure on the Putin Mafia, who has been syphoning off billions from the Russian treasury.....Even though he's not President, Putin is still the boss.

The pipeline - which features in the 1999 James Bond film The World is Not Enough - pumps around one per cent of global crude supplies from the Caspian to a Turkish port for export to Western Europe but is already closed because of an attack in Turkey last week by the Kurdish separatist organization PKK.

But I ask you this......Isn't it strange that a major oil producer (Russia) is at war, and a major pipeline is in the war zone, that very pipeline is shut down because of a terror attack, and the price of oil drops?   Why is that?   The speculators have always responded immediately to any blip that could indicate a change in supply........but it ain't happening!

Corbin, IMO, neither country will lift a finger to assist Georgia because
Putin told George another wopper, that he's going in to protect the oil pipeline from the Caspian Sea to Turkey via Kazahkstan and Georgia.  Right, he's looking out for NATO interests!  Look for this to spread eventually to Iran.  Now, let me hear your belalika's ringing out!
