Perfect rhythm and a lovely sentiment.  We probably all have those moments of wondering how our first love is doing.

Re:

Sometimes things are better left alone

I'm not sure I would appreciate my spouse's first love to come back into his life, if only for a short message - lol.

It's like first love has a way of haunting you for the rest of your life, even though you're probably happy with someone else.   Well done.

... it happened, it was a strange and confusing time, mixed with giddy excitement and beliving of everlasting time - and who hasn't been through it?

Your poem gave memories that probably it just as normal as brushing teeth every day. -genio

Memories like that brings out a secret smile sometimes, a smile you don't want to share.
