I did as you suggested, Azur and put some words down one after the other - it was good fun, as you can see in the next post.  I might even do it again!

John MacNab. thank you for your comment
I so appreciate it. Now you young man, I want you to put some words down, one after the

after and see where it takes you. You are a storyteller. I mean this. Just one word, then another and so on...

Hiya Pat_B.  I'm OK and so is Ell.  Thank you for your concern.  It's just been one of those 'what the hell's the point?' times - let's call it a lack of confidence, blip.

Sorry about my absence, TAPS, and it is good to hear that you've been missing me.  There has been no particular reason for my lack of posts, apart from life's ups and downs.   I should be blogging again soon.

Azur

Thank you for your comment, Azur.   I've come to the conclusion that I should have gone with my first instincts back in 1995 and bought a MAC - I wonder if they make a 'NAB' model?

It hasn't been a computer meltdown this time so much as a brain meltdown.  I made a mistake and actually looked at the number of page views my blog has had.  4,281  -  just over 2 readers per day during the 5 years since 2003?    This didn't do my self confidence much good, but then reality very rarely does. I'm still recovering from the shock, but I'm sure I'll get over it, mainly because if I don't it will be a long fall.

Take care.

John Macnab
A MACnab should have a Mac.

Hope it's not gone on the blink again. I was noting the conversation about partners reading blogs. The blog is sacred space for me. My partner has never ventured here.

I can appreciate Mark's point of view, Sira.  But perhaps he should read about Ell so that he can be forewarned and forearmed?   Ell is never allowed to read anything I post on Blogit.   Her head is big enough; goodness knows how large it would become if she knew how big a fan club she has.

Re: Sira890

LOL Mac! I've let Mark read through this post, and all the comments. He's totally and completely on your side! And he's informed me that I'm no longer allowed to talk to (or about) your darling Ell--I suppose because he doesn't want me to learn any more tricks from a "pro" such as her.

Mrs. Bucket, indeed!

Sira890
Sarcasm aside, Sira, it is.  I know how Mrs Bucket's husband feels, at times, and as for Lil's modesty - she hasn't any.  She is not going to be allowed to read your comments - the house wouldn't be big enough.

Re: Re: LOL Mac!

My apologies, dear Mac! I have the utmost sympathy for your "plight"--it must be just awful, to be married to such an amazing and intelligent lady!

Here's a hug, just for you !

Re: LOL Mac!
Eh!  Sira -I write a post about an arrogant wife?   I'm looking for sympathy - and what happens?   She gets the hugs?  Sigh!  I'll pass on your comments about the amazing machines if I can ever get her butt out of my seat.

posted by johnmacnab on July 2, 2008 at 8:46 PM | link to this | reply

LOL Mac!

You crack me up, regardless of subject matter. But this was just too much! Firstly, because I can relate to you, and the frustration over those darned computers!

But, more importantly, I can relate to poor Ell! Mark has crashed my computer (note: MY computer) on more than one occasion. And then he comes running to me complaining because it doesn't work. And when I try to get him out of the way so I can fix it, he says I'm being arrogant!

So, please give Ell a hug for me, and let her know I totally understand what she's going through. And there are some really amazing new machines on the market right now, so could you also wish her "Happy Shopping" for me?

Thanks, I appreciate it ! Us "genius" wives have to stick together!

LOL.  I think that's why the Scots are so aggressively friendly, ginnie, but for 'drugged out' read 'smashed on  malt.'  Even my new cellphone has a camera, and I've taken umpteen pictures of my thumb.

LOL Mac!!
My how we've downsized!  And might we remember those video cameras that took the shoulder of a moose to carry around?  Now everything I own seems to have some sort of camera attached..hilarious!  My hospital stay didn't reward me with a small bundle to bring home although I did make a lot of friends in my drugged out state!  And that's always fun!

Hi Ginnie!!!!   Great to hear from you.  I hope your stay in hospital was rewarding?   We were at our granddaughter's graduation on Saturday and at our daughter's party later I couldn't believe how tiny all the entertainment objects were.   When I was a teenager I used to humph a bluidy great tape recorder to the parties after I'd downloaded songs off the radio.  Now it is shirt pocket size.

'Making the scene?'   You've got me there, Pat, which just goes to show how au fait with trends I am.  Yep, she's quite a lady, Pat - a PITA lady sometimes.   Ell has a laptop; a friend gave her it last year, and it sits between us.  She uses it as a support for her clipboard....Duh?

Hi Mac!
Sorry about your computer woes but who but you can write such a great story about it all!  And hey..those lil handheld puters are awesome!  I have an Ipod Itouch that has internet and it kept me occupied and sending emails when I was in the hospital and then recuperating in bed over the past few weeks.  I was shocked and happy to find that the hospital here has WiFi...awesome new world we live in!

I love Ell.  I really do. And she's right, my Scots friend. You could get a laptop with one of those thing-a-mabobs that pulls signals out of the air, and  take it with you to a coffee shop and write your sights and sounds blogs while "making the scene."  Sheesh, but I'm old. Making the scene is so '70s.
