Sam444,
That prayer is mine as well. You have a heavy burden and I understand that it is not about sacrifice, you want all to come home (my opinion).

Corbin_Dallas,
You keep trying to extract your importance from the loss of others! I see through the charade and will not embrace a single moment of your emptyness!

I don't think people understand the gravity of the serviceman's contribution until someone hands you a flag from their coffin and says thank you! I pray daily I do not get one of those flags. I do not want to witness a military burial ever again. sam

Corbin Dallas,
You people seem to miss the purpose of war! If it has a purpose it is to correct an injustice or dissolve a threat and move to a better position! It is my opinion that "wasted" life or senseless violence in a criminal cause is not sacrifice! It will end are you prepared to embrace the outcome?

corbin ... I read a quote from you on another blog and it
doesn't at all go with what I just read here.  This story is what it's all about.  What most need to remember is it's not about whether you "feel" we should be "over there" or not, the point is we are, and our children are fighting and going back again and again because they believe in what they are fighting far.  Watch Gandolfini's "Alive Day" documentary.  One young man died three times and then lived to tell about it ... lived to say he would go back again if they would let him.  People sit in their living rooms and say over and over and over again, "we just need to get out of there - we have no business over there."  JUST ONCE I wish someone would tell me WHY they say that and what their solution is.  Just once.  Sorry for taking up so much space on your comments Corbin.  Your post is awesome.

Re:
And having that feeling is your right.....preserved by those now fighting and those who have fought through countless wars and conflicts............

I read stories like this often and I agree. Today (and everyday) we should honour those whom fight (and die) for our country. I don't care why they joined....or what they were thinking......(but i still feel strongly.........we just shouldn't be over there.....enough)
