Ciel, That is a redbud tree. They are all in bloom in MO right now. They are everywhere here. The blooms develop little long flat pods with seeds in them.

Hey, OTA your cranapple tree gave me a chuckle!
Thanks for running out to check your neighbor's tree, and eliminating that possibility. Maybe if I just stick around here long enough, I will see what fruit it bears. Or maybe I will ask my daughter to keep an eye on it.
