You're absolutely right, you want to look where you intend to go, not where you don't want to go. On a dirt bike or an ATV and I suppose walking as well, if you look at what you are trying to avoid, that is where you will inevitably go. The body is set up this way, so by looking past danger, you can usually avoid it. We, it seems, have a terrific auto-pilot system of reflexes!
