food
I also hate the cooking and cleaning and everything that goes with it

I can eat a carrot without washing  or peeling it.

Instead I love the internet .

Thanks for your comment  on my book vogue .

I am also quite afraid of diabetes.
I would never want to have to go through testing my blood and such. I don't think I could do it.

Hey,  you should do what you want of course.   Sometimes friends are misguided and they want what they think is best for you.  I am sure they do not mean bad, they are just trying to help.  Just tell them gently and if they do not back off, cook for them, loll, something really bad, and insist that they come again.  I asure you they will try to keep you busy so you do not make them sufer again  (I can't believe you are in Miami, I am in Miami Beach :-)  We are neighbors! ) Great Post

Hey!
Just tell them to back off. It's all about bounadries.  If you tell your freinds - nicely and firmly and in peace time - that this is how you choose to live your life.  If they still insist, maybe a new set of friends?!

If you are happy with your food choices then
tell the rest of them to "bugger off" as my friend in the UK would say.

Vogue

Of course you're not 'silly', you just don't like to cook. Nothing wrong with that, I would just tell those folks bugging you to stuff it.

I happen to love it, although I don't do it as often as I would like. I have a million recipes, (well thousands, okay?) and I enjoy the whole thing, except for the washing-up, which, however, is done by the dishwashers, either the Maytag or la plongeuse, my LSW...

I am not one for food myself, I eat to stay alive and for health. I understand what you are saying. I feel it is a bit much for them to continue to want this for you since you have clearly stated your position. Cooking is a lot of work to make those unnecessary fattening meals. Hold your ground because it is what satisfies you that is important. You are initiating a preventative measure for a potential deadly disease, I commend you for taking charge of yourself. Also, I am so sorry for the loss of your mother to a dreadful disease.  sam

vogue, sorry about the double pic.  Can you erase one or both of them please.  I found my old keyboard in the closet and have it hooked up and its working fine while the other one dries out.   You know those "friends" will never stop bugging you even though it is not their business.  That's just the way they are.  You do your own thing.  I'll bet your way of eating is much healthier than theirs.

I'm certainly not the one to chastise ANYONE for not cooking at home......remember.....i'm WAY OVER budget in the eating out category. I know "cooking" is a form of therapy for many.....and, if it's NOT that way for you........so be it. It is what it is........don't waste your time feeling bad about it....you're doing fine.

I think it's your business how you eat. It sounds to me like they're
concerned about you and want to "fatten you up" or something...if you're healthy and happy, I think you're fine!
