I had heard this too with cancer patients. I had a friend who was given only 6 months to live, and "funny" enough, he is still here today (about 10 years later). He was very fortunate, and I notice his personality had changed too. He is so much more positive, and upbeat now. Not sure how he really did all of this, but he must have had a GREAT will to survive it all!!!

Very informative post, I had heard about this before in my work with cancer patients. It seems that keeping a positive attitude and laughing often improves the chances of survival an incredible 20%. I guess we are going to force ourselves to laugh :-)
