vogue, Son #2 lives in Florida and this sort of thing just drives him up the wall.  I try to get him to study Spanish on the side, thinking that it would help him build an interest in things hispanic.  So far he refuses, says its a matter of principle.   He's a stubborn fellow--takes after his Dad.  LOL

Oh yeah
I live near the Mexican border and I speak Spanish, poorly. But I've had exactly this sort of thing happen. Sometimes I think the local Hispanics just get a kick out of hearing my accent. :)
