I meant childbirth, but having read your post on snow, it kind-of fits...

You are a very brave man. I think surgery on the eyes is right up there with chillbirth (okay, so now you know my weaknesses...) - hope they continue to improve.

Re: jacenta
Migraines are no fun at all.  I can't even stand light when I suffer them.  Just take care and I'll be around to check in again.  LOL

jacenta
Thank you for your concern, jacenta.  According to the surgeon, my eye is doing fine but I'm having migraines and it is difficult to see the monitor, so I've been forcing myself to keep away from it just now.   But it might be time to re-start before I fall out of the habit.

I wish you the best with those eyes of yours.  I love playing pool!  I'm not great at it, but I have a good time and so does Hubby when we cover a lot of grass and tease about getting the other person's garbage off the table. LOL  I always enjoy reading you!

TAPS
Awww!  That's nice, TAPS.   Blogit informed me that they couldn't collect my subscription from my credit card, and what with the eyesight not being too good, I took it as a sign - apart from which I could use the money more sensibly.   But your comment has changed my mind.....it's nice to be missed.  Thank you TAPS.

I find myself changing my shooting angle just prior to connecting with the cue ball - I know I do it, and it annoys me.  But if I go with my instincts, it usually works.   I have the same trouble with the stretching, and most of the guys I seem to be playing are ex RCMP or some such and it doesn't bother them if they can't see to the other end of the table - they are at the other end of the table.

It seems to have worked, Pat.  Now I can drive without wearing glasses - as for pool, I'll find out.

I've discovered that shrugging my shoulders and saying 'the hell with it' works for me.

I always play better when I'm not trying

Maybe it takes the pressure off. Maybe it's because my aim is a lot better when I stop trying to aim, and just hit the ball. Or maybe I'm playing just as badly as usual, and am simply not paying enough attention to notice how bad I am at pool.

In my defense though, I have trouble reaching a lot of the shots, especially when the ball is in the middle of the table. I either need longer legs, or a shorter table!

I hope the surgery goes perfectly, and that one fine day you'll go
for a return match and surprise heck out of the guy. And another 50,000 miles is almost enough...  :)

Sounds on cue to me
Sometimes you can have more fun when you don't care too much.

Thank you guys.   Sorry about the multiple replies but I won't be able to reply fully until tomorrow or the day after, depending on my eyesight.
