Pat

Thank you for the compliment, Pat.  I was speaking to the left-eyed lady in the waiting room.  I asked her why she was among the right-patch brigade, and if she'd been canceled from a previous day.  But she said it was her original op day.  She was furious with herself because she'd overheard me telling another patient that I was going to take the lens out of my spectacles to make life easier, but she misunderstood and thought I meant I wouldn't be wearing my glasses at all. So she'd been walking about blind for 6 weeks.  But, she did keep the debate lively.  Apparently we will meet again in February, as she said, "I'll keep an eye open for you."

I asked the Doc if he did right eyes on Tuesday and left eyes on Thursday, but he shook his head.  "That would take away the challenge,"  he said.

Whacky & Bo
Thanks for the rose and smiles, guys.  I was just thinking that I could have the Doc done for speeding in a restricted area.

Azur
Isn't sight wonderful, Azur.  I'm looking forward to being able to read with both eyes, instead of holding the book half a mile away to read it with the cataract eye, or holding it close up to read it with the soon-to-be-operated-on eye.  Good luck to your friend.

ginnie
I think you just ducked in time, ginnie.  I suppose it will be purty.  I'll keep that thought to the fore, like a banner of hope, he says insincerely.  As an aside, I played a pool game yesterday.  My opponent is another cataract patient, only he has been diagnosed as being legally blind in one eye. Thank goodness I beat him.  The humour at the pool hall was razor sharp - talk about the blind playing the blind!

TAPS
They are wonderful aren't they TAPS.  Ell and I have one each but ours are running on carpet, with the result that we haven't crashed into each other so far - but she does want to fit wooden floors.  could be very interesting.

majroj
That is a non sequitur, majroj.  My blogs are already illogical and my keyboard doesn't know how to spel.  Maybe I should try the voice recognition thingy.

I loved your description of the waiting room with all the
right-eye patches. And judging by your doc's banter, you've found a like-minded sense of humor. And the answer to your question, in the land of the right-eye patches, the left-eye wearer is not king. (nor queen)  She's just taking the other side to keep the debate lively.

Glad I caught sight of this one
It gives a glimpse of an experience that a friend is going through too.

You are looking good from here. I just got new glasses last week.

Very cool frames. Oh and I can see words again.

Dunesifter
How would we now live without chairs with castors?  What did we do without them before they existed.

Astigmatic as well?

Well, push on. We'll know when your blog's full of misspellings and nonsequiteurs that you got voice recognition software.
