Re: By the way, Xeno-X... (the word) by b2008
I explain it earlier in this blog -- here's the simple one -- we add to antidisestablishmentarianism.

the word "Nouveau", as I add it, refers to contemporary Christians, particularly in the U.S., who want to promote their agenda, prayer in schools, intelligent design, omission of Evolution in texts, display of religious artifcats in public places, etc., inconsiderate of people of other religious beliefs or no belief at all.

the anti -- I am enacting my own crusade against the nouveauantidisestablishmentarianists, mainly in the form of information.

By the way, Xeno-X...
...I don't think anybody remembers that word but us. The word antidisestablishmentarianism I mean. You added to it of course, but now I'm confused as to the meaning:)

I know you don't want to get me started...
...no sirreee buddy:) Because your generalizations of the "no difference" between the two religions are a bunch of doodoo. Christians (in America that is) are not even a teeny weeny bit like the terrorists Muslims. We don't cut people's heads off either. Why would you even say such a thing? That's why Christians get so upset because you guys exaggerate your positions like it's the truth. And you hate for Christians to say anything that might sound reasonable because to you, Christians are not supposed to be reasonable. Are They?

Re: Re: Re: I'm not waging any war...... look at Jesus
You want to look at past punishment for heresy and other infractions?  Christianity is full of punishments similar to Mohammedanism.

It is only the enlightenment of certain people that ended this.  I am confidant that Islam will also progress to this point.  They are undergoing what Western religion underwent some hundreds of years ago.

Corbin do you want me to talk about Christian hypocrisy?
maybe the Koran talks about violence against unbelievers; however, Muslims here on Blogit have pretty well explained that such is a last resort -- and that they believe Christians and Jews to be their brothers.

Muslims have been highly tolerant of Judaism and Christianity, allowing Jews to dwell in the Holy Land, and Christians to build and maintain The Church of The Holy Sepulchre and Nativity and Via Dolorosa and other "holy" sites.

Moorish Spain was highly tolerant of Jews, even elevating them to important positions; while Christian Spain -- well, you know the story.

The hypocrisy of Christianity is that yes, the New Testament preaches peace and "Love thy neighbor as thy self" and "Do unto others . . . " and historically Christians have ignored these sayings, violating the very precepts they espouse.

What did Jesus say about the mote in someone else's eye and the beam in your own?

Christianity cleans up its own act, repents and becomes the religion of its founder -- and there will be no room for criticism.

Re: Re: I'm not waging any war...... look at Jesus
The Christian who wants to repress free speech is no different or better than the Muslim.

Except,  it seems the Muslim method of suppressing free speech is by removing the vocal cords when removing the head???

BTW:  My comment was about the article, nothing else......I hate to get you started on your rants....

Re: I'm not waging any war...... look at Jesus
do you think he hated the religion of his heritage, Judaism?  Of course not.

But he did point out the hypocrisy and error of his religion.

I guess you think that pointing out hypocrisy and error is hating?

I am remember what Jesus said about sin:  "He that looks at a woman with lust commits adultery in his own heart."

Action is not necessarily the exclusive domain of sin.  Thoughts are also.  Repression is repression wherever it exists.

A repressive act is a sibling to any other repressive act, no matter the degree of severity of action.  The Christian who wants to repress free speech is no different or better than the Muslim.

Re: Amazing how......
Christianity has had its share of deaths and persecutions of unbelievers -- wherever believers have felt powerful enough to "coerce" unbelievers, or dissenters -- even within its own ranks.

you should look up Waldenses, or other dissenting groups in the Middle Ages.

Christianity has indeed progressed past violence in the main.  But still, we only h ave to look at Christian American only four decades ago to see violence by Christians to Christians in the South's opposition to the Civil Rights Movement.

The Rule of Law and acceptance of that helps our society.

Europe is less violent now than it was a mere 65 years ago.  WWII was then flashoint and the watershed of centuries of European nationalism and terrible interChristian wars.  It seems to have taken that event to cause Europeans to take up a new vision of peace.

Violent tendencies are still part of any people's nature.  We see vengeful attitudes and even riots in certain places even today.

Now, of course, maybe the general "pacifism" in American Society might be due to certain pacificatory chemical compounds that become too extant via physician prescription.

I'm not waging any war......
I am pointing out a fact found in the piece you linked......was it not?   Why do you defend Islam....is your hatred of religion limited only to Christianity?
