Offy, that one is on my list, too!
Actually, computer-screen work is much worse on my eyes...  but those odd 3-D pictures that make you refocus your eyes are fantastic at healing eyestrain--which has to do with the muscles that focus your vision getting all fuckered up...

Re: Nautikos

And bubbly, festive, wonderful New Year's to you and your family, too!  Plus an excellent 2008!

Have you ever seen JNicholson in WOLF?  Michelle Pfeiffer and James Spader, too...  Not a bad modern werewolf story.

Re: Would you believe "Alvin and the Chipmunks?"

Whacky, did you take Bo to see the Chippies, too?  Naw, theater owners have not the appreciation for puppies...   I remember Alvin from years back.  Was it clever and cute? Was it good for grown-ups?  Some animation leaves me cold--just another cartoon.  Or just another Japanese cartoon.  But some I have really, really liked.  Howl's Moving Castle is one.  Also, some animation out of eastern Europe has been fantastically good--by my taste!

And I like Wallace and Grommit....

Re: TAPS
I haven't heard of that one. DDLewis was fierce in Gangs of New York, and very...hmm... attractive in Last of the Mohicans... What's this one about?

Re: Troosha
I wasn't sure I could, either, but for my son, I would try...  Happily our taste in movies overlaps well, and going to blockbuster movies together has always been one of our traditions.  I was way behind in the films I have been wanting to see, and I wanted to do something memorable with him we can chuckle over in years to come.  This was perfect!

Sam444, the real challenge can be staying awake...

Not something to attempt after a big meal, for instance, or without a good night's sleep behind one.

The only other consideration is the ability to sit still for hours--which I am practiced at, between being online, watching TV or long-distance driving.  As long as my brain is busy, I am great at that...  I park way out in parking lots to make sure I get some walking exercise in!

I haven't been to the movies in ages, the last one being 'The Departed', with Jack Nicholson. Mainly because of Jack, 'cause he's one of my favorite actors...But your post has inspired me - I'm gonna find out what's playing in town, or maybe even in T.O.... And before I forget, a Happy New Year to you and yours!

I haven't been to any lately, but you make me want to check one out.   I'd like to see Daniel Day-Lewis in "There Will Be Blood" but its not out yet.

Wow - 4 in one day!  No wonder your eyeballs are spinning.  I'm a movie freak but don't know that I could do 4.
