It has occurred to me lately that when I get all cynical and mean-minded, judgmental and condemning, it is always because there is a part of me trying to even a score: I am feeling, in that moment, that someone has done to me what I am doing back now, and deserves this response.
That is me, in the middle of the perpetuating cycle, sending around what I think I got sent.
How much better all around, to interrupt that cycle and send around something like courtesy, humor and generosity...
