I read where 50 % of pregnancies end up in spontaneous abortion
making mother nature the biggest abortionist of them all.
This is so NOT a political issue. It is a personal issue.

Oh goodness, you hit a nerve with me! You are absolutely right. I was pissed when Mitt switched his opinion on 'the right to life' which I think the 'right to lifer's' have it all backwards for the right to life includes the mother!!! Abortion is not birth control and there are so many out there who believe that this is what girls are using it for. How f-ing absurd. Abortion is mentally, physically and emotionally traumatizing...forever. No child or woman takes it lightly. Also, it's just not young girls who are finding themselves with an unwanted pregnancy. It is women of age, who's B.C. failed, or women who have been raped by strangers or their own husbands. (I was one of those women). I think education could help for abstinence is a mere word. I think having young teens volunteer in maternity wards would be extremely helpful...just like drunks in the morgue. Bottom line is, a woman has the right to chose to have or not to have an unwanted child for Lord knows there are thousands, maybe even millions of unwanted children on this planet right now. Okay, okay I'll stop. Great post.

I have always felt abortion to be a personal issue. The ones who make the issue a life cause, to me, are more apt to be part of the problem rather than the solution. I agree that education is the first best step. sam
