Like would be so much easier
if they would just stick everything in the box...like an air pump for an air matress

I would have to agree......it also seems that most things now take the "a" batteries. I can't think of many things that take c or d

Are batteries running out of power sooner these days esp. AA & AAA. I can't get a year out of a $4 battery for a remote used sparingly in my kitchen, then there is my $7 watch battery.........I think the batteries that require frequent changes are not put in packages so we can choose which 'bunny' will get the money. sam

They know that when we make a trip back to the store to buy batteries (after realizing that we need them) that we will see other things that we just have to have.   I cannot go into a store for one thing I need and come out with only one thing.  It is an impossibility for me.

Western society has been trained by various soruces to be consumerist
in thought and in deed.  As the world goes global, you'll see other cultures and societies fall into place.  We're naturally materialistic and territorial as a species.  Accumulating and protecting is what we do.  Needless consumption is an extension of this, empowering those who are without any true power (just the power of the dolllar).  Everything is intentionally packaged and marketed to keep us continually and coninuously buying...

buy, buy, buy is the reason, if you are out shopping for batteries, you
just might see something else to buy in the process,  and so on.  Just like buying a spare when you buy a new car.  Pretty soon you will have to buy the steering wheel like an extra. And then the rear seats will be an extra.  Keep us buying above everything else.  Keep our minds on paying for all this stuff,  just herd us on down the shute.

I know, I find it annoying as well. It's worse if you have to assemble things, though, I hate that...

Wow, sounds like a powerful toy 9V + 6! Lucky child and shopping early....

I was mislead a little by your headliner, out of the box (catchy title caught my eye, thought it may be about stepping outside the box), but good subject anyway.

Seems every, little thing is like pulling teeth anymore. I bought my niece's bathrobe and ended up home with the exploding ink thing still attached, had to go all the way back in to get it removed, delaying the birthday party, very frustrating. Wonder it didn't beep...even those things don't work like they're supposed to.

I would make a BIG fuss over the extra $200 on the TV though, sounds like a scam to me (or the salesperson didn't have a clue). I went into a video store for coax and fifty young fellows were running around, (obviously hired for Christmas), and not one understood my need for an outie versus an innie (to connect two TV's to splitter & to the wall), a half hour process! I enjoy making a ruckus anyway, get tired of attempts at being scammed. About half the time it's just because nobody has a clue at what their doing or things are not packaged properly...most the world seems to be on fast forward.

You must still be overloaded at work? You're not around often. I do enjoy your poetry and writing and pray you're alright. Please email if you ever want to talk one on one.

just can't understand why the sales rep told you that you needed 200 dollars worth of cables for your television.

Makes me long for the day when the buttons were on the front of the TV!
Now you can't even change channels if the remote goes dead!
