Good to know e-mail servers drive people buggers on both sides of the pond! Thanks for sharing, think I'll lazily get me a cup of jo and think about that poem, the one that didn't make it!  Really, good one, thanks for sharing! / Xanthania

Tony,
Although it may not have a snowball's chance in hell of succeeding, would you speak up for Dave?

does what it says on the tin -- hasn't caught on as a catch phrase
here in the colonies...  Learning about it from your sonnet was fun!  :)

Zena, yes it's best to active on the whole, i think, but
to be stoical about things you can't change, like the fact i'm not gonna be able to enter this poetry competition because a)my email won't send, and b)tomorrow night is the last chance to send one in, but I'll be doing trick or treat with my younger daughter who's four, going from door to door with them and a friend and her dad!

Hi guys - you all understood even though I explained it badly!
I'm just watching some video footage I shot in 1991 - it's now on DVD! The First Gulf war was just starting - I filmed some scenes on the telly. But mostly it's about my kids who are now grown up but were then just little toddlers.

Antonionioni
Your blog definitely does what it says on the tin.   It serves us up a daily sonnet.  We can always count on you.

Not in Hungary
I mean the expression. They don't dare to say because almost never true.

Good philosophical poise...

Antonioni, I often find it hard to tell the diffference
between when to be stoical and when to be active.  Or when to get involved.

But then I ask myself "Can I forgive myself if I leave the situation just as I found it".

Write here and make money
that's one trade descriptions misnomer I often see.

Hi Azur - well, it's usually applied a thing with a descriptive name.
I'm trying to think of a good example to make it more obvious. Oh i know - you could say it about a woodpecker. it does what it says on the tin.

So little does what it says on the tin
