Re: FYS
Hi Krisles, thanks so much! It's absolutely incredible when you read an ancient text, and really dig into the translations---you get a feel for their thinking, and that is a huge thing in reading scripture, or any other works from an ancient culture for that matter. Glad you find appreciation in my efforts!

Excellent read! I always appreciate folks who aren't as intellectually lazy as I am, and take the time to really dig into things.....and then lay them out for me to peruse and digest. Languages of all kinds are so rich and meaningful within thier own construct....and so hard to translate one to the other and maintain integrity.....I've always thought those so foolish who think they can read a King James and KNOW the WORD. How much richer a study lilke yours'....

Re:
Hi Offy, Thanks! I totally agree with you, girlie! I believe we put God in a box way too often, and quite often it begins with the creation story.

This is so very interesting....Thanks for taking the time to explain some of the text. I believe God created it all from nothing and however long it took him does not matter to this girl. Time was different then, man put time restraints on so many things that people actually believe a week has always been seven days since the beginning of time, how silly eh? I really enjoyed this post and will add it to my fav's...I'll be back for sure! God Bless..

Re: Darkness
Hello Eddie-Ray, my love, my inspiration, and my favorite cover-hog! Thank you so much for the vote of confidence~it means the world to have my husband appreciate my craft. We're going to have to get you a screen name so it doesn't look like I'm talking to myself!!
ER, you make a very interesting point--it is humanity that applied the Day-Week metaphor to Creation so that it made the concepts as accessable as possible. We talk about this alot--God exists outside of time and space as we know it, and therefore is not limited by it as we are. You might be right about Big Bang, and give God more glory to think he capable of creating the universe in such a grand expression, rather than boxing him into human concepts such as days.
LOVE YOU ER

Hey FYS, Eddie Ray here....... The inspiration for your middle of the nite writings.
Awesome job............
I've often wondered how people really perceived God actually creating Earth in (6) twenty four hour
days, when you think about it there wasn't a calender per say.
I truly believe a day in Gods eye could be a million years.
As far as the "Big Bang" theory, yes I believe......... Thats the way God did it.

Hi katzs, thanks for reading! Your observation is exactly what I have always understood---I've seen this so many times in my life, and couldn't actually put it into words, until I really poured over these verses. For as archaic and mystical the book of Genesis is, I never get over how much I can learn from just a few lines of text.
