you're right

there is something about a complete stranger genuinely caring about you that is so touching.  when im crying, and not in the comfort of my own home, and someone ive never seen in my life comes up to ask if im ok, GOOD LORD watch out, the tears just come even faster and more furious!!!  It actually makes my chest ache, I'm sure you know the feeling, when you can actually feel physical pain when you're emotionally upset... it's just so touching that it makes me cry harder.

i love people

I totally agree...

...I've had a LiveJournal for 6 years now and although I have had a lot of support from 'real life' friends & family (some!), it has been the support I've got in my journal that has meant the most. The comments there are the ones that have stopped me crying, started me crying (but in a good, healing way!, given me that extra strength I needed to go on and often just plain taken my mind off what I was thinking about.  There is something about people wanting enough to comment on something you have written, to actually take 'finger to keyboard' that is touching in itself.  I honestly don't know what I would have done for the last 6 years without them.

I'm glad you're finding the same here - and glad my comment helped :)  And thank you for putting me on your list - *that* meant a lot to me :)

I agree 100%. Isn't it interesting? We might even reveal in our writing more than we would in "real" life.

bloggers can comfort a person more

Yes imo, bloggers can comfort a person more than people that know you well.  People that know us to well might think they know what is better for us than we do and end up giving us the wrong advice at times.  Bloggers only know us from our writings and if we happen to know them in person.  A few here are family,  and some others friends I think.  I don't personally know anyone, but I have read some of them and like them others I won't read very often at all.  But, the point is that if you listen to a blogger/stranger they can put a new spin on things and give you new perspective on what might be bothering you.

Yes, Blogit really is great. There is a lot of criticism about the whole money issue but whatever, when it boils down to it, it is worth it.

I have found that bloggers help no matter what you are going through. They are definitely supportive and there is a lot of compassion on here as well..

I think the compassion extended by fellow bloggers is well received because it's coming from an impartial observer.  As well, everyone has such different (or in some instances similar) experiences so it widens the scope of wisdom or support which can be shared.  Glad the words you heard from readers touched you.

Exactly, they can see things from a different perspective, right?
