WavyDavy, always a joy getting your comments! See my answer to Corbin Dallas RE your concerns. They are all of our concerns. You are right, my only role is in the school building.

Re:
Corbin, this is a political issue, not an educational one. If Republican lawmakers -- and you know that I am a true moderate conservative -- decide on a realistic worker/family exchange program, and a sane method for incorporating these harmless, hard working, mostly Catholic residents, then they can begin to bear their fair share of the tax burden. BTW, we need more new schools, not fewer. You live in a progressive county.

Great chatting wuth you!

kingmi - I agree with you. However, I do find it sad that it has to be an
issue in a way.  Good luck tomorrow!

Kingmi: I agree with your teaching methods.  You sound like an excellent teacher that is committed to his students being the best that they can be.  I agree with everything that you wrote in your post except that it doesn't matter whether these students are illegal or legal.  As a taxpayer, I shouldn't have to pay for the education of illegal immigrants.  Come here legally and learn English.  I have no problem with instructors teaching English to legal immigrants.  You provide a great service to them and the country.

Duh!
I meant county, not country......

Now, whether these students are legal or illegal immigrants is none of our business. That issue should never arise in schools.

Why?  Are you speaking about just inside the classroom?  In my country we opened 2 new middle schools last year.....forecast to handle growth for the next 7 years.......they are already over crowded...why?  We all know why...the illegals. The burdens placed on the average property owner as a result of these people is at the breaking point.
