A thought to your wish;
If one was to believe that God is the love and life in, through and around all living things (this is just an if), couldn't one see, hear, smell, taste and touch everything through God? Just a thought! ~Blessings~

A few comments as per your request in The Blogit Town Square
1. Touching people seems not to fit with the other "so I could"s.
2. "not the coffee" need not be parenthetical. Indeed, placing them within parenthesis makes the phrase stand out more than it would if simply set off with commas.
3. The last lines are not convincing. Perhaps, if you brought in something along the lines of dreaming the dreams of all...

Ah yes...
To experience life as others might, what would be the one common experience?

Nice work
I know the feeling, the desire to experience something the same way another does. Good poem on the topic

Hi - an admirable attempt to break through the barriers of just being us.
Imagine how it would feel, though, if for one day we were able to experience how someone else thinks and feels, but still be us. We would probably hate it at first!!
