It sounds as if I live in the same melodramas as yourself, Azur. Good luck virtually.

Azur...Second Life as a training platform
There is a movement afoot to use so called "Second Life" as a software/networking platform for C.E.R.T. and potentially other people to get better training for disaster response.

Indulge yourself in a little rest, you need it.

Popping in to say hi.  Noticed you haven't posted in a while.

Clearly, you're not deluding yourself.
You're definitely a pro at this. The problem is marketing. Maybe lack of time. So busy making a living we don't have time to live (focus on the work).

Also, the moment when you give up looking for something around the
house is when you will find them, just lying around at the most obvious of all places.

Sounds like you're on the right track now.  It's true, sometimes when we're so involved with what we're doing we forget to look at the big picture.  Hope it gets better for you.

The second life project sounds like it would be fun; something always turns up, hope this turns out well for you.

One never knows how one will use a retreat, so maybe it's for the best.....
Never retreat. Gang furd, and up the rebels!!!! You still on that horse and in your shining armour?

Don't forget to take it off and to wear something frilly to bed. Call your husband Jameel or Rochmaninoff or something, all night long. Or, for just a few minutes, whichever comes first. Oops.

Did I write that? No, a poltergeist took over the keyboard.

Sorry to hear about the retreat and stuff.
But think positively!  Something bigger and better will come along!  You are a great writer and I know someone will snatch your work up soon!

We are becoming Japanese, I mean, Nihon-no.
Many people don't say "NO" anymore, they just blow you off or stall until you get bored or discouraged and then YOU say "no". I fucking hate that. And I rarely cuss here.

Maybe the editor is on
holiday or having a personal crisis?  I was out most of Tuesday while the Orthopedic surgeon adjusted my son's arm.  It took 4 hours, two x-ray sessions, and they kicked me out of the room because I was crying.  It seems my son toughened right up as soon as I left.  I hope everything works out for you

Well...
Sorry to hear about the disappointments, but sounds like you've got lots of irons in the fire and are having some successes too.  Yeah you!

I find everything about your writing career so very fascinating.  You make it sound so easy to get the good jobs and write the interesting stuff.
