Um, I think you may have meant to leave this comment in my next post, Corbin.

Either way though, the answer is no (because I was just happy to get out of there alive).

Well, the important thing is that at least the message did not fall on deaf ears, Talion.

Thanks for dropping by, riri.

That is a great quote, Foliage ...

And, even from a very young age, I've always carried myself in such a manner.

Though primarily due to my own extremely inflated sense of superiority.

Mademoiselle
I learned this secret long ago. I smile graciuously, as if astounded by their startling insight while thinking the crude, misguided, SOB should go f*ck himself. It works every time.

Mademoiselle

Ah, here's my favourite quote by: Don Miguel Ruiz

Don’t Take Anything Personally

Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering.

Precisely, Scriber.

Actually, I wouldn't know anything about that, Masky.

But, I must say, it sounds ghastly.

posted by Mademoiselle on May 8, 2007 at 9:30 AM | link to this | reply

Well, that certainly seems like a healthy way to handle it, Whinge.

Oh, no, Rcky. Manon isn't Muslim. Plus has the traditional allotment of eyebrows.

I wouldn't even attempt to try to spell my neighbor's name.

I'm hoping you at least mean by the students, proc ...

and not the faculty.

I'd say the key, TAPS, is in not giving it any thought whatsoever before opening my mouth.

re--gracious criticism...huh?

posted by scriber on May 8, 2007 at 8:25 AM | link to this | reply

Madem...
I usually accept any kind of criticism with an open mind, because I appreciate people feeling comfortable enough with me to address such things.  What I don't like...which has only happened with a handful of people...is when the criticism isn't criticism, but a personal vendetta!  Ya know?

posted by ---Masky--- on May 8, 2007 at 8:14 AM | link to this | reply

I can only accept criticism awkwardly with a big smile that is more than
obviously fake, and have to have a bracing comfort coffee for consolation after while brooding over how much better I am at the other stuff that didn't get noticed......
